Description

We are looking for a talented Controls Engineer to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Inc. facility in York, SC.

Job Summary:

Assists with the development of all aspects of control systems, equipment, and machinery.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

•  Contribute to reliable control system designs by supporting the development and refinement of control architectures that meet functional, safety, and performance requirements. 
•  Improve system performance through rigorous bench testing, assisting with test development, execution, and documentation to validate control logic, sensors, and actuators. 
•  Ensure hardware and software operate to specification by modifying configurations, code, and equipment to resolve performance gaps and maintain system integrity. 
•  Accelerate issue resolution by troubleshooting and debugging basic control system problems and implementing approved change requests efficiently. 
•  Support informed financial decisions by preparing cost estimates, compiling equipment and labor data, and drafting clear appropriation requests. 
•  Develop practical, well-balanced solutions by investigating project requirements and proposing plans that consider economic, staffing, and environmental constraints. 
•  Strengthen engineering decision-making by providing accurate technical analysis and recommendations for review by senior Controls Engineers or the Controls Engineering Manager. 
•  Enable successful PLC-based implementations by assisting with installation, configuration, and ongoing technical support of PLC hardware and software systems.

•  Effective electrical and controls troubleshooting skills
Analyze electrical control systems to quickly diagnose, repair, and restore equipment to proper operating conditions, minimizing downtime.
•  Automation and machine programming capability
Design, program, and implement machine-level solutions that improve automation, optimize equipment usage, and enhance overall manufacturing performance.
•  Manufacturing and sensor technology knowledge
Leverage an understanding of manufacturing processes and sensor technologies to implement process improvements, ensure accurate measurement, and support quality and continuous improvement initiatives.

Education, Licenses, Certifications: 
•  College, university, or degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field, or equivalent experience required. 
•  This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. 

Experience: 
•  Basic level of relevant experience required.



Qualifications

•    This role is 100% onsite in night shift.
•    Should have good understanding about trouble shooting related to electronic controls, Ignition, MES, IT Issues and Automation.
•    Should be able to provide support for all manufacturing and assembly lines in third independently
•    Should have knowledge about Automation, Robots and Safety requirements
•    May have to do advance machine safety risk assessment after necessary training
