Aquatech immediately needs a full-time Mechanical Engineer to work in our Hartland, WI office. The hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Mechanical Engineer will perform the duties described in the job description below and will be considered an Exempt employee.

The ideal candidate will be creative, have good communication skills, be team-oriented, have excellent problem-solving skills, and be customer service oriented.

Job Description:

  • Pressure Vessel Mechanical Engineering to meet all the requirements of ASME Section VIII, Division 1 Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.

  • Pressure Vessel Mechanical Engineering to meet all the requirements of international codes as required for each project.

  • Finite Element Analysis to complete non-cylindrical vessel engineering, vessel support engineering and review stress concentrations during vessel engineering.

  • Direct AutoCAD vessel drafter to create vessel drawings including dimensional, fabrication, plate maps, tolerance, transportation, etc.

  • Review and approve all vessel drawings, calculations and datasheets.

  • Create vessel bills of material datasheets and specifications for material purchases.

  • Review proposal specifications to determine exceptions and clarifications for project bids based on the Aquatech vessel standard.

  • Develop vessel standards and drawings for standard Aquatech products.

  • Participate in quality improvements through IDEA Cycle and Lessons Learned initiatives.

  • Review welding procedures (WPS) and procedure qualification records (PQR) for carbon steel and stainless steel alloys.

  • Solve vessel fabrication, quality and corrosion issues.

  • Engineer piping and ducting to meet all of the requirements of ASME B31.1 or ASME B31.3.

  • Other duties as assigned. 

Skill Requirements:

  • Knowledge of piping codes ASME B31.1 / 31.3.
  • Exposure to water treatment & wastewater treatment processes would be a plus.
  • Knowledge of Plant engineering - Layout considerations and piping layouts.
  • Knowledge (or awareness) of ASME, ANSI, and AWWA codes for pressure vessels, tanks & structural design codes.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic flow, pressure loss concepts in pipelines, and open channel flows
  • Exposure to CAD software (AutoCAD 2D/ Plant 3D preferred).
  • Proficiency with MS Office, particularly Excel-based spreadsheets.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
  • Five (5) or more years of experience with heavy industrial piping required
