Job Scope:
The Senior Planning/Scheduling Engineer (EPC) is responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing project schedules to support the execution of EPC projects. This role involves collaborating with project teams to develop detailed work plans, monitor progress against timelines, milestones, and identify schedule risks and opportunities.
Develop and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6 scheduling software. Collaborate with project teams to develop detailed work plans and schedules for engineering, procurement, subcontracts, construction, and commissioning activities.
Monitor progress against project schedules timelines and milestones and identify schedule variances and risks. Analyze schedule impacts of changes to project scope, resources, or priorities and develop mitigation strategies. Prepare schedule reports and presentations to communicate schedule status and performance to project stakeholders.
Provide recommendations to optimize project schedules, including resource leveling, critical path analysis, and schedule compression. Coordinate with project teams to resolve schedule-related issues and conflicts. Participate in project meetings and reviews to provide schedule updates and recommendations.
Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Follows company's established standard processes, procedures and formats required for corporate reporting and deliverables.
Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field. Vast experience working as a planning/scheduling engineer or project controls specialist in EPC mega projects in the oil and gas, petrochemicals, and industrial gases industries. 15+ years of experience may be accepted in leu of bachelor’s degree.
Proficiency in Primavera P6 scheduling software. Proven experience in the application of project management principles and techniques, including schedule development, resource management, earned value management, and risk management/analysis. Experience using Deltek Acumen is preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Knowledge and understanding of schedule constraints and information requirements for the production of all project controls deliverables.
Ability to develop a construction cost estimate, a detailed engineering schedule and a man-hour budget for a small project or an area for a larger project.
Ability to determine construction material quantities.
Experienced in estimating and scheduling professional service hours and assessing the progress and quality of project controls work. Ability to accurately estimate completion of assigned tasks.
Proficient in the use of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project scheduling software and Timberline Estimating software.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
