How You’ll Make an Impact 

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Aerospace Manufacturing Intern to support our Manufacturing Engineering functions within a fast-paced aerospace CNC precision machining environment. This entry-level position will provide critical administrative support to the Engineering department, assisting in the coordination of quoting activities, customer communications, and documentation management. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic environment, demonstrates a high level of accuracy, and is eager to grow within a Manufacturing Engineering support role.  

What you’ll be doing as an Aerospace Manufacturing Intern (Manufacturing Engineering Department):

  • Working a Full-time, onsite position at our Fife, Washington location.
  • Gather and organize customer RFQs, engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation for review by the estimating team.
  • Enter quote details, part data, and engineering requirements into ERP and internal tracking systems with high accuracy.
  • Create and maintain well-structured quote folders, ensuring proper version control of drawings and supporting documents.
  • Communicate with customers to confirm RFQ receipt, request missing technical details, and relay engineering clarifications as needed.
  • Assist in preparing complete quote packages, including formatting engineering documents, printing drawings, and compiling supporting materials.
  • Track open RFQs and quotes, updating status reports and following up under the direction of engineering or estimating leadership.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (engineering, production, quality) to collect technical inputs and confirm manufacturing feasibility.
  • Schedule and support internal review meetings, documenting action items and technical decisions from pricing discussions.
  • Maintain estimating and engineering dashboards, logs, and performance metrics to support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Perform administrative and technical support tasks such as data entry, document control, and professional correspondence.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications (Education, skills, and experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree completed or in progress in Engineering or related field
  • Highly motivated to learn and grow within the Aerospace Manufacturing Industry 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Outlook, and Word)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced setting
  • Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset

Preferred Qualifications (Education, skills, and experience:

  • Prior experience in aerospace or precision machining industries
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems 
  • Comfortable working with technical documents, drawings, and spreadsheets

Work Environment: 

A large percentage of work time is spent in a machine shop where temperatures vary from hot to cold. The environment may also include exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vapor from coolant, etc. Industry standard safety equipment is provided by the Company, and specific notice is posted in areas where safety equipment is required.

 

Compensation and Benefits:

The Aerospace Manufacturing Intern Compensation range for onsite Washington applicants is $20-23/hr. commensurate with experience. Some shifts may include shift differential pay rates. Other site ranges may differ.
