Backend Engineer (4 days ONSITE)

Job Type: Full-Time

Role Summary:

We are looking for a seasoned backend engineer who is looking for an opportunity that comes with a high degree of ownership and responsibility for evolving Tako’s platform working on projects spanning, core backend, data infrastructure and search. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced start up environment where rapid iteration is the name of the game. This person will be a key member of Tako’s early engineering team and will be able to have a massive impact on our mission to visualize the world’s knowledge.

What You Will Do:

• Expand functionality of our platform by building at the intersection of our data and search infrastructure
• Be willing to talk directly with customers to develop a deep understanding of their use cases for Tako and design backend-supported features to delight them
• Collaborate with search and data infrastructure teams to ensure the product runs smoothly end to end
• Ensure that Tako’s backend can scale in volume and functionality while maintaining aggressive latency goals

What You Will Bring to the Team:

• 4+ years of relevant engineering experience at tech and product-driven companies
• A desire to build across multiple domains (core-product, search, data-infra)
• A mastery of python (and at least a familiarity with frameworks like django)
