The Composites Manufacturing Engineer II is the subject matter expert and is responsible for the development of composite manufacturing tooling, equipment, and processes, maximizing efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, composite manufacturing & assembly methods and work force utilization. Determines tooling, fixtures and equipment needed to achieve manufacturing goals. Designs fixtures & tooling required to fabricate and manufacture composites and works with R&D to ensure product manufacturability. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within an ISO9001/AS9100D facility. Relies on team input, experience, and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Assignment of Functions or Duties:
Minimum Requirements for Education, Skillset, Qualifications, and Experience:
•B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical field or 10+ years experience
•5-7+ years direct involvement in tooling and equipment procedure/process development for prepregcomposites.
•Knowledge on resin transfer and/or resin infusion molding applications
•Must be a US Citizen.
•Strong problem solving and organizational skills.
•Self-motivated and ability to work with little or no supervision
•Excellent communication, interpersonal and training skills
•Demonstrated proficiency in SolidWorks
•Must be open-minded and flexible, exhibits sensitivity, honesty and integrity
•Experience interfacing with suppliers to support process development and cost reduction for new
Products.
•Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
•Experience in working with military specifications and requirements
Preferred Skills and Experience:
•Preferred M.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical field or 15+ years experience
•5-7 years direct involvement of tooling and procedure development for resin transfer and/or resin infusionmolding applications
