The successful candidate will assist engineers in mine planning, preparations of cost studies and equipment evaluations.

Job Description:
 

Duties/Tasks:

  • Utilize current technology to develop methods and procedures

  • Work with a variety of mine equipment to improve efficiency in support of mine operations

  • Work with data to produce reports

  • Perform job duties in accordance with MSHA law and regulations, established safety procedures, and state and federal environmental regulations

  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong work ethic with effective communication skills and a creative and innovative attitude  

  • Ability to work efficiently in a team environment, as well as individually with minimal supervision

  • Advanced knowledge of computer applications, including Microsoft Office Applications, Auto Cad, Mine planning software and Mineware monitoring systems

  • Work outdoors in extreme weather conditions

  • Valid Driver’s License

Educational Requirements:

Enrolled in an accredited engineering program and in good academic standing. Completion of at least one year towards a Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineer, Civil Engineering, Construction Management Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, etc. This program is not designed for graduates. Work will be performed at a surface lignite coal mine.
