Overview
A leading manufacturing organization is seeking a Director of Plant Engineering to drive operational performance, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement across a high-volume production facility. This role is responsible for leading maintenance and engineering functions, optimizing plant efficiency, and executing strategic capital initiatives that enhance long-term operational success.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead capital projects from concept through execution, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and in compliance with all safety and regulatory standards
- Oversee project planning and implementation to minimize production disruption and maximize operational impact
- Develop and implement advanced maintenance strategies, including preventive and predictive maintenance and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
- Drive improvements in equipment reliability, uptime, and overall operational efficiency
- Lead, coach, and develop maintenance and engineering teams, promoting a strong safety-first culture and accountability at all levels
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex operational issues while identifying and addressing root causes to prevent recurrence
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including equipment reliability, maintenance effectiveness, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)
- Partner cross-functionally with operations, quality, and leadership teams to support plant goals and continuous improvement initiatives
- Build organizational capability through talent development, performance management, and succession planning
- Foster a culture of safety, communication, engagement, and continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in engineering and/or maintenance leadership within a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated leadership experience with a track record of developing high-performing teams
- Strong technical expertise in mechanical and electrical systems, including automation and controls
- Proven experience managing large-scale capital projects and budgets
- Knowledge of maintenance systems, work order processes, and reliability-centered maintenance practices
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and design tools (e.g., AutoCAD)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Preferred Experience
- Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with industrial refrigeration systems
- Background in high-volume production operations
Additional Requirements
- Flexibility to support off-shift or weekend operations as needed
