The Manufacturing Engineering Manager for Ladder Frame is responsible for overseeing and managing engineering processes to ensure efficiency, safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness. This role involves planning, monitoring, and improving production processes while ensuring compliance with internal procedures and customer standards. The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will also lead continuous improvement initiatives and provide technical support across various departments.
Manage and oversee engineering processes, ensuring resource efficiency and adherence to robust safety, quality, and productivity standards at the lowest possible cost.
Plan, develop, and implement new processes and improve existing ones in line with internal procedures and customer requirements, evaluating potential impacts and returns.
Ensure the updating and critical analysis of technical documentation related to products and processes.
Maintain and control product structures, ensuring reliable information flow and proper material scheduling in the production process.
Develop, control, and update Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) for both new and existing products
Supervise the development and modification of tooling and devices, ensuring necessary support for suppliers and internal teams.
Define ideal method plans for budgeting new products and processes, including product structure, labour, internal structure, and feasibility simulations.
Provide support in budgeting processes through feasibility analysis to ensure consistency and accuracy in proposals and figures.
Offer technical support in selecting and evaluating tooling and device suppliers.
Implement and maintain Control Plan systems according to customer specifications.
Represent the company in technical meetings with customers and provide technical assistance to other departments as needed.
Manage continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S, Kaizen, and MUD within manufacturing processes.
Lead and manage the engineering team, providing guidance and support to ensure operational goals are met.
Oversee investment proposals, advising on preparation, implementation, and payment approvals as required.
Ensure compliance with product safety characteristics as specified by customer requirements.
Promote innovation and technological advancements in processes, equipment, layouts, skills, and infrastructure to maintain the company's competitive edge.
Establish and monitor key reports and performance indicators, ensuring adherence to procedures, goals, and corrective actions.
Comply with Environmental Management Systems (EMS), Health and Safety regulations, and company policies.
Ensure legal and institutional compliance with suppliers and external entities while upholding ethical business conduct and corporate standards.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
Work Experience
5 years of manufacturing related experience with hands on operational knowledge (preferably two)
3 years practical experience in automotive industry manufacturing environment) ;
Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor experience is a plus;
Experience working in an organization that has a well-implemented “Safety Culture” is a plus
