Sales Engineer

Sligo Systems is looking for an experienced Sales Engineer to join our team! The Sales Engineer plays a dual role in driving sales success and operational efficiency. This position is responsible for creating accurate quotes, providing technical sales support, and acting as a liaison between customers and internal teams. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with strong communication and organizational skills to ensure that customer requirements are met from initial inquiry through final delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Quoting & Technical Support:

• Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer requirements, technical specifications, and project goals.
• Prepare accurate and timely sales quotes, factoring in labor, materials, production costs, and lead times.
• Maintain quote tracking systems and contribute to the continuous improvement of quoting processes.
• Prepare and deliver technical reports that clearly explain how products and services meet customer needs.
• Evaluate equipment and applications to ensure product compatibility with customer systems.
• Recommend new or modified products that provide cost-effective solutions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Act as the communication bridge between sales, engineering, production, purchasing, and logistics teams.
• Ensure smooth coordination of product delivery, order fulfillment, and customer satisfaction.
• Provide leadership with regular updates on quoting pipeline, order status, and production performance.

Customer Relationship & Order Management:

• Build strong rapport with customers to establish trust and ensure product acceptance.
• Secure orders, guarantee adherence to product standards, and follow through on delivery commitments.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or technical sales environment with exposure to customized products.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Team management experience and ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience with lean manufacturing, quoting systems, or continuous improvement processes is a plus.

Work Environment:

• This is an IN-OFFICE position  -  No remote work will be allowed.
• Combination of office and production floor settings.
• Requires hands-on involvement in a manufacturing environment and occasional customer site visits.
