The Senior Engineer for Plant & Machinery will be responsible for ensuring the effective operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of plant machinery and equipment. This role requires a deep understanding of mechanical systems, project management skills, and the ability to lead teams in the troubleshooting, repair, and optimization of plant equipment. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining high standards of operational safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance & Operation:
- Oversee the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of plant machinery and equipment.
- Ensure optimal functioning and performance of all mechanical systems in the plant.
- Develop, implement, and optimize preventive maintenance schedules for all critical machinery.
- Perform root-cause analysis for recurring issues and provide recommendations for improvements.
Project Management:
- Lead projects related to the installation, upgrade, or replacement of machinery and equipment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, engineering, procurement) for smooth project execution.
- Develop project plans, timelines, budgets, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance machinery uptime, reduce costs, and improve overall plant efficiency.
- Implement best practices in equipment reliability and performance management.
- Conduct failure analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent downtime.
Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure adherence to all plant safety regulations and maintenance procedures.
- Ensure that all machinery operates within the prescribed safety and environmental standards.
- Lead risk assessments, audits, and safety inspections related to plant machinery.
Team Leadership & Collaboration:
- Lead, train, and mentor junior engineers and technicians to build a high-performing team.
- Foster a collaborative work environment that encourages knowledge sharing and innovation.
- Work closely with production and operations teams to align machinery capabilities with production goals.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and machine performance metrics.
- Generate regular reports on machine downtime, maintenance costs, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Ensure proper documentation of machinery manuals, service histories, and upgrades.
